Booking your wedding is no easy task, but when it comes to booking the person that’s going to capture your day, it should feel easy and stress-free. Rather than letting you do all of the hard work, I try to help you get your head around each part of your day, making sure that I capture every special moment. Here’s what will happen once you send that contact form and get in touch.
The First Appointment
Once we’ve got the first contact out of the way, I like to book a short appointment with you at my office, to go over your wedding and what you’ve got planned. It’s a great chance to iron out any details you might be unsure of for your special day, so I normally put on a pot of coffee for us. If you can’t manage to get to the office, I can also do a quick video call, just to get to know you and your wedding.
Securing Your Date
There will be a 25% retainer to secure your wedding date into my diary. You will receive an invoice and your contract, which just outlines my services for your wedding and some other required information. If you request details of my insurance, you are more than welcome to ask for it. We will also set up an additional call to go over any updates about your special day, so I can make sure I capture exactly what you want.
Once I’ve got the details of your day written down, I’ll send you a PDF of your wedding notes with an entire timeline of your day. This helps me to keep super organised in order for me to get the best results for your album. It can also come in handy for you to remember every detail you’ve planned!
If you have booked me to photograph your wedding, you will also be invited for a complimentary engagement photoshoot so we can get you in front of the camera and get you wedding ready. You get all the edited images and you can use these for your invitations too! This normally takes around 2 hours and will take place in the location of your choosing. This could either be more countryside or city based.
We will have either a half an hour phone or video call before your wedding date just to go over the schedule for the day and any updates you may have for me. I’ll update our wedding notes if needed, and I’ll send them back over to you straight away. Feel free to forward these to any other of your suppliers that might need a timeline of your day.
I will arrive in the morning (depending on the package you’ve booked) and we will get the ball rolling on all the wedding photos or video. I normally start with the bridal prep, followed by the groom’s photos - but this order is totally up to you and I’m flexible with your day. After the ceremony and reception drinks, I’ll take you aside for a few posed couple shots around the grounds of your venue. Then we’ll gather the family around for all of your group shots, and the big group photo. After that it’ll be time for either a meal or more informal dining, and then the speeches and party. Every wedding is different and unique in it’s own right, and we’ll work together to bring to life the vision you have for your big day.
I like to be discreet throughout your day and capture the more natural moments. Going above and beyond to get the perfect shots for your video or album is part of my commitment to your wedding, so make sure to let me know any key parts of your wedding or guests that you want to be captured forever.
If you’ve booked photography, you’'ll be invited to my office to view your photo album and then you can decide whether you want to order albums and any wall art. You will also collect your USB of all your edited images.
The viewing will be presented in a slide show with music and a glass of bubbly or soft drinks.
